This will be the third temple under construction in the country The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Naga Philippines Temple will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Elder Steven D. Shumway of the Philippines Area Presidency will preside at the event. Over 900,000 Latter-day Saints reside in the Philippines, meeting in almost 1,400 congregations. There are six operating houses of the Lord in the Philippines, three of which — those in Alabang, Bacolod and Davao — were dedicated in 2026.
